An oak tree in New Milford, believed to have been the site of a staff meeting by George Washington during the American Revolution. The tree died in 2003.
Reception building has been replaced by a Red Lobster, but the motel building survives as a Comfort Inn. Postcard wasn’t mailed, but bears a notation reading “1st night, Sept 20 1975.” Note doesn’t specify other highlights from that Saturday night, or what “first” may refer to.
